A step by step demonstration of how to use the Redrum pattern sequencer for Kong patches. This basically gives Kong a sequencer.

  • @QLashay see here's where my problem lies. The way I have it, I use Redrum for the sequencer but I have 1 gated for 2. Then I have 3 gated for 4. So when I have 1 selected it hits for 1/2 and I have a heavier kick. I use 3/4 for my snares. Then from there I have the individual channels routed to the mixer. Does that make sense? I think what I'll do now is just gate 5 from Redrum to 5 of Kong etc and use that to build my drum machine now. Do you have dropbox?

  • @supaseals Yes that makes since...check out my video titled make your kick bust a hole in a wall....your problem will go bye bye.

  • i got a question, why u connected the redrum with the cong?? so u can apply compresion n the other fx of the kong to the redrum or what?

  • @Yusuf7022 no just to use the sequencer....no other reason for me....I'll make a vid on using effects with redrum...

  • OMG! THANK YOU!! =D Finally someone that puts this in basic english. You're the best!

  • @OddAntSounds I use this method a lot... always have. I especially use it to layer my drums to get a fuller fatter sound on the kick drum and then add a little eq and compression to it as well.

  • @QLashay thanks for your comment, now I can't think different of using Kong :) anyway keep up the tutorials, that is inspiring to see people using reason everyday . peace

  • @Towl35 check out my video on layer drums in kong...! you can stack them right within the patch....plus you can blend the levels, pitch, and velocities to create a whole new kick!

  • @OddAntSounds it just depends on what your intentions are for your track.with Kong you have the option to manipulate your patches differently, layer your drums, trigger mutes and alternations, add time and dynamic based effects and so further which can't be done with redrum....so you get the best of both worlds so to say.

  • @merivell (: (: (: no prob...I love you too (:

  • @adampnewsome you can cut the note off in the step sequencer so it won't sustain as long or add a rest behind what your stopping.

  • thanks alot for the info i'll be using it for sure
