after successfully tackling the tough terrain and hill climbs of BVORR, Jack flops his FJ Cruiser on its side on the last trail of the run. not too much damage (crunched door, bent fender and scratched mirror), but the motor is toast. we're still trying to figure it out. sounds like a rod knock, or maybe valvetrain. there's white smoke pouring out the ass, we're just wondering how coolant got into the cylinder.

  • The engine is toast because it sat on it's side so long that oil from the pan seeped pasted the rings on the pistons. You should have let it set for a half hour or more once you got it back on it's wheels before attempting to start it. This would give any oil that got into the left bank of cylinders a chance to drain back past the rings. You probably started it too soon and hydraulic-locked the cylinders (remember oil and water won't compress) and damaged piston/s, ring/s or rod/s..

  • @dave9442 yep, it threw 2 rods. the oil came in through the head, past the valves and into the cylinder.

  • @basivey Oil will cause blue smoke not white. White smoke is water...

  • The Fj was just bowing down to the Jeep O|||||O

  • To make time shorter could have tooken the spark plugs out and turned the motor over

  • I bet it made a hell of a bang when you tried to start it.

  • It got a new engine?

  • damn that sucks thats why i take my $1000 beater XJ

  • cracked head gasket

  • @Y0B0YCHRIS yep, leave the $40k SUV on its side and burn it. then go home and drive your $400 "Yerf Dog Go Kart" because it's the only thing you own with 4 wheels.
