For example. trying to llink the concept of Christian "marriage" a union of man and woman to something akin to a "civil union" Marriage is not a sorority or fraternity. I'm afraid I have to correct you on a few issues. I am not a Liberal. I consider myself to be a conservative libertarian.

Liberalism is not wrong. When you think of liberalism, you are thinking of progresivism. I tend to think of Liberalism in the Classical sense, like the founding fathers.

It's just a good song that I thought matched the man and quotes when I made it.

The juxtaposition of Burke's thoughts with John Lennon's silliness is a slap to Burke's face. Lennon, as a hippie utopian, stood for everything Burke rejected. Lennon and his ilk would have nauseated Burke. Lose the music.

It is not hypocritical to take differing positions in vastly differing matters. The Jacobins did a hell of a lot worse things than any Bourbon did to them.

I am a Social Democrat, but believe that Burke's conservatism should be applied to all politics. Slow and gradual change is the best way to test the water, using skilled and very careful evaluations.

An example of poor Burkean conservatism is the current Conservative government in the UK, which is revolutionising every British institution based upon an a priori philosophy. The inevitable result is chaos and more economic downturn, just as with Thatcher - the antithesis of Conservatism.

You must remember, that al the founders of the ideologies had very good criticism of the different ideologies.
