Turbo Harley vs Suzuki

Bracket racing at Thunder By The Beach, Grand Bend Motorplex, Sept 5th, 2009. The Harley was quite the plumber's nightmare, with huge dual intakes either side of the front wheel. A fascinating piece of home-brewed engineering. I hope that was a Suzuki- there were a lot of bikes and snowmobiles running on Saturday, and as you can see, my iPhone doesn't like low-light conditions...

Big difference is the guy probably drove the Jap bike home at the end of the day.

I know exactly what you mean, but to be fair, all of the Japanese-based drag bikes I saw that day, went home on a trailer, just like the Harley.

And it really was quite the piece of plumbing. Viewed up close, the twin turbo installation was impressive.

boy i get tired of childish sport bike guys any Harley only guys arguing over what is a better bike.in a drag race who ever sets the bike up right (spend more money)and rides it better is probable going to win.on a track or winding road sport bike hands down,but if I"m riding long distance like New York to L.A. you'd be nuts to ride a sport bike.

@1962polarbear if you read you would note that they are bracket racing. Meaning that the objective is to come closest to the "bracket" time without going faster. Since we don't know what bracket they are in, it is safe to say that the harley technically may have won the race.

The reality is that the Suzuki did not jump the light but DID cut a very good RT. He caught the guy on the hog napping. At the risk of coming off as "coulda, woulda, shoulda", If the guy on the Harley would have launched correctly that would have been a very interesting race, indeed.I'd like to see what would happen in a 1/2 mile race. The Suzi would be blown away...People don't understand; Harleys have to have time to wind up the cat & put out the clock...

@74pickle You are totally wrong. They both had a green on the tree (which means he didn't jump, or it would be red) and secondly, the busa lit up first at the end which also means it won. The Harley never passed it....get some glasses and watch it again.

@sentineloffreedom actually thats a hyabusa but that hog is definately beastly, the suzi jumped the gun and that hog still passed it n held by at least a bike and a half that things wicked
