Can you define socialism? If so, please provide an example of "socialism" advocated by the Democratic Party.
You're right that if we elect Barack Obama president, we will make up some of the ground shifted to the right under the last 8 years of Bush, but we're currently and will for a long time be a far-right nation.
Though, as of yesterday, George W. Bush is proposing we nationalize the banking system. Like it took Nixon to open China, it takes Bush to socialize banking.
