http://trainedparrot.com/index.php?bid=8 I let Kili show Truman how to touch the target stick for training. She really wanted to show off so she also did it in flight and shared some of her tricks with him. I am hoping to model the behavior and teach Truman to do it without use of food or clicker. We'll see what happens. This is also a good socializing exercise to get both parrots used to each other. Check out the article mentioned above for more information.

Lots more information about trick training and my stories with Truman the Cape Parrot on the new blog:

  • hi mate, can all birds learn to do recall training. Like for example an alexandrine parrot?

  • @mrmartial Sure, why not?

  • i really likes your videos but does all your videos also for a parakeet becuase i have a parakeet and i have him now 3 weeks and when do i have to take him out of the cage?? And what do i have to teach him first

  • @TheGuitarherochris Yes. Check out my budgie training articles but also read through my parrot training blog. There is a link under more info and on my channel page.

  • What do you give as a treat?

  • @iStanleyTV Normally I use seeds, nuts, and fruits as treats for Kili but in this video I was just breaking off little pieces of pellet to give her just out of convenience. She was hungry so she didn't much care what she was getting. She just likes food with less regard to what it is specifically. She's a little pig and will eat nearly anything.
