  • @danbo115 loss of engine in an Out of Ground Effect hover...

  • wow..... roping matress custioning on the bottom IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO high teck of a impact obsorbing material (not insulting just surprised it accually worked)

  • @dagalsevidxela youve sort of got it right , I think this test is to see what would happen if the blades stoped before the pilot ''flared'' you see a helicopter can land quite safley without engine power , its called an autorotation wen the pilot like you said builds up speed then flares at the end to get maximum air flow through the blades then just before touch down he builds the collective for a nice soft landing

this test seems to be blade stop at say =/ 50 ft

  • cool thats the body of an u.s md530 u never see them around.

  • dude, helicopters actually do fall like this, after the engine cuts out the operator plummets down to the ground as fast as he can, so as to keep the rotors spinning as fast as possible for when he gets to about 20 or so feet from the ground whereby he then puts as much force going up and forwards so he can stop and slide instead of just landing strait down which is not as hard of an impact on the helicopter and the people inside

  • when will a helicopter drop straight down?

  • that is a slide, not a crash
