A Scatman rendition of "The Night Before Christmas".

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through Japan
Not a creature was stuttering
Except the Scatman.

The Scathats were worn
By people of all sizes
As they waited, with smiles,
For Scatman's suprises.

The kids all stayed close
To their Pops and their Mums;
Some eleven, some seven,
Some still sucking their thumbs.

Everyone at the concert
Had nothing to fear;
How could something go wrong
When the Scatman was near?

When the curtain was pulled back
And the stage was lit up,
Everyone in the audience
Respectfully shut up.

The spirits of everyone
Instantly lifted
As the spotlight shone on
the Scat-tasticly gifted.

As his eyes both lit up
His face broke into a grin.
And the audience knew
That the show would begin.

He raised up his hand
And adjusted his hat,
And opened his mouth,
And started to scat.

The speed of his Scatting
Shook all of Japan;
For this is the power
Of the immortal Scatman.

The crowd watched in wonder
As the concert progressed.
The Scatman kept going,
Never needing to rest.

So, where did he get
All that power, you say?
The power to inspire
Us all in this way?

It came from his past,
which was bitter and darkened;
His stutter made life hard
For little John Larkin.

But he found a way
to turn it around
When he discovered that
Scat had a stutter-like sound.

Now, his message to all
Still rings faithfully true;
"If the Scatman can do it,
Well-a, so can you."
