When John Nash visited Brown University a few years ago, he gave an incredible speech during which his back faced the crowd the entire time and he read from overheads. During his lecture he discussed globalization, but would make hilarious asides that didn't relate to the topic at all. This is video of one such aside during which he discusses the Greek tale of Diogenes.

...of competitive species. Rather than that...it's sort of like when honest people replace dishonest people...there is a...someone had in ancient greek someone went around with a lamp, and it was lit in the daytime saying I'm looking for an honest man. *The crowd gasps...

  • HE'S A GENIUS FOR GOD'S SAKE!The word CRAZY is not right to describe him. He's a schizophrenic but he ables to overcome it.If you were in his position, can you do it like him?I don't think so.He overcomes the sickness without depending on medicine. If you're in it, no doubt you would become even worst, ... dork.

  • The real John Nash is still a GENIUS....who's contributions to our world far surpass anything any of us might dream to accomplish. Are you from FOXX news? This 53 seconds of unintelligible audio and view of the back of his head are a fraction of what I am sure was an extraordinary lecture. One that I would have jumped at the chance to hear. It is a shame that THIS is all you got out of this once in a life time chance to hear true intelligence. What a waste.

  • i beg you to please tell me who is sane and why, we're all mad in our own way.

  • @penkallli I generally hear the voices every day. For the last 6-7 years it has been a specific male voice, like that of a wizened old man who's extremely angry and threatening. He's always telling me dreadful things are going to happen to me. I mostly ignore him, or else I'll say back to him, "Oh... so YOU think I'm going to die soon. I see. Thanks for sharing." That drives him batty!! I have never seen any entities like movie about John Nash portrays. THANK GOD!!! :-)

  • nash referes to Diogenes (500 bc) who was a philosopher. he critizised society by beeing rude, for example the mentioned the lamp anecdote.

so imho its not far fetched.

  • @SunsetSix

Can u still hear the voices ?

Do u see them or just the voices

  • Schizophrenia is in my family. Twice I've descended into madness, each time brought on by enormous emo stress. I've heard voices all my life, but the times I went mad I believed them and obeyed them. That almost killed me. Both times I was able to return to sanity by temporary meds or rest and prayer, and realizing the voices could MOST TIMES not be trusted. However 2 or 3 times the voices were extremely helpful in avoiding accidents. My IQ is 145, thank God it's not higher!

  • @ChenJunHung your an idiot

I agree. The person who put this video up will never, ever come close to the intelligence that John Nash possesses. Therefore, I can only conclude that this is jealousy. That makes the OP pitiful, to be jealous of a genius like Nash, who has learned to live a productive life despite one of the worlds most crippling mental illnesses. The OP of this video will never get past the urge to make fun of people.....which will in turn, make him/her nothing in life.

  • is he still alive? :)
