This is my first time ever on an excavator. I've operated other construction equipment in the past, but never an excavator. Turns out that it really gets easy to operate after a few minutes of practice and getting used to the controls. In this video I'm excavating for my new garage foundation and I'm hauling the dirt with my self-made converted dump bed Dodge pickup. Please come back and check my channel for a special video of my dump bed pickup

  • First off, you're a freaking champ lol.

Most your vids are kick ass doing all of it by yourself.

Anyways I'm trying get my dad to buy some woodlands

and after i clear the trees i wanna build a nice 4-5 acre pond

I will have no idea what i am doing, but my dad has been looking at propertys 24/7 so i figure i should get knowledge on what i need to buy to do it.

What would be best to clear all the dirt?

  • @stainedxdds As far as trees go, if they are not too thick a good size dozer will do . Stumps of large tree can be a problem and you will need a 7-10, 000 lbs excavator or bigger to dig out the stumps. To do the pond If there is no rock, you should be able to do it with a dozer alone otherwise an excavator and a dozer. Good luck with the project. Keep in mind that it is cheeper to rent large expensive machines like that vs buying.

  • first time? - good job

  • 4-5 acre pond a belly scraper once you got the trees cleared. don't cut them push them over then get a timber company to take the wood for free.

  • Nice

  • Its not easy keeping the founds level, but you sure seem to have got the hang of the controls, you might be able to do with less revs or perhaps its just where the cam was positioned?

    Cheers
