Here is a dream sequence from the Our Miss Brooks episode "The King and Miss Brooks." In this episode, one of Miss Brooks' students turns out to be the son of a Maharaja and the Maharaja asks Miss Brooks to live with him in India. In this sequence, featuring a cameo from Desi Arnaz, Miss Brooks imagines what her life would be like if she took the Maharaja up on his offer. Featuring Eve Arden, Gale Gordon, Jane Morgan, Bob Sweeney, Ricky Vera, and Hy Averback as the Maharaja.

  • Oh Desi is hilarious in this! hahas.

  • If you listen closely, you learn that Desi is pronounced dessy, not dezzy.

  • Oh, and incidentally, the I LOVE LUCY episodes on DVD have been restored to their original length, for the most part. So unlike what you see in television reruns, the "Fan Magazine Interview" episode is restored to the way it was originally broadcast, so in that scene, you hear the original Desilu music, not this CBS music that you hear in the television reruns. They talk about this in one of the bonus sections on the DVD.

  • The music at the end wasn't really from I LOVE LUCY. When CBS first reran that series, they edited out material, shortening the episode length. In the episode "Fan Magazine Interview," CBS used this transition music in one of their edits. They used it because the original Desilu music was longer; they had shortened the scene, so they had to shorten the music, replacing the Desilu music with their own. I'm guessing CBS also reran OUR MISS BROOKS and similarly edited out Desilu's music here.

  • the music at the end of the scene is also music used on an early i love Lucy show

  • ditto that. :)

  • great have fun!

  • Hey, no problem, I got a tone of the raido show myself. :)

  • well actually they're mp3's of the radio drama not tv...sorry

however, they are just as funny :-D

  • Of the show? Whats the quality like?
