So nice! I'll hopefully get 450SL real soon, for Christmas, for around $3000 in excellent shape! A steal as far as I'm concerned. Wish me luck!

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Benz Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!

I love my W116 and practically orgasm from accelerating on my 5.0L W163, but if I had the resources, I would buy up a R107 in a heartbeat. Great collection. BTW, I like the modern spin on this rendition of "Katiusha"

my uncle bought a 1978 450 ...it is awsome...he is the original owner and he still has it till today!!

my dad has a 1978 450 slc 5.0 silver with black and he is the original owner imported from germany in 83 he got it when he was posted out there in the war the reason why i saw that is we just got here running agin today and drove it all day it never skipped a beat all original no rust no major problems and only 57000 miles on her it was my dads baby
