It is ALL gut feeling and almost no reason. You must feel it deep in your gut and then (if you have the technical ability) you are able to give a good performance.
I think about it to make an interpretation on a synthesizer as Tomita could in the 90's. You really can lie a lot expression in it, this peace needs that.
The fortissimo's arestill too sweet to me and the swinging, introvert parts are still too classic and too neutral to me.

All those critics, terrible!
This is the best performance of the 3d part of the Khachaturian violin concerto I ever heard, and I try to hear them all.
Besides, I love the 2 violin concerto's of Prokofiev also very much.
It is very difficult to play this piece because you have to make it sound sexy (because it IS).
Sergey does that very well. I love it!

The sound is quite acceptable... Undoubtedly Khachaturian's greatest work... right up there with the two Prokofiev concertos...
