Messing around with some echo/delay , doubling the notes up. Was recored with my webcam, so it isn't the best sounding/looking video. (I came up with small riff about 15 years ago !).

  • whats the purpose of scalloping a guitar?

  • @chrishurt12345 To allow differnt tones and faster playing , no resistance from the fretboard !, you either prefer or it or u don't , is a 'what u prefer' sorta thing. cheers

  • @Krashulka Scolloping dosnt allwow for faster playing lol it makes it harder to play fast even yngiwe malsteen says so and evey one of his guitars a scolloped

  • @ht448 Any guitar scalloped will be harder to play at first , thus being slower for you , if your not used to it !. Once used to the scalloped frettboard and using lighter finger work the speed difference is very noticable, due to no resistance on the frettboard, So what Yngwie said is right to an extent , if your not used to a scalloped guitar that is, otherwise scalloping improves speed , gives a different tone, and also you can bend strings to a higher pitch.

  • Really dude. This could an intro to one of the most badass metal songs ever made, and/or be the most badass build-up part in the middle of a metal song. You should totally do something with it.

Btw would you mind tabbing this out for me if it's not too much trouble or time consuming? I really love playing riffs like this, especially with a delay pedal. Ever since I heard floods from Pantera and Interworld and the New Innocence from Buckethead, and Echo Song from Paul Gilbert, Ive been obsessed,

  • @jonharveymusic ok guys , im in the process of tabing all my stuff for free use , sorry for all the delays, jjst been alot going on in my life lately with family passing away and so forth , so youtube hasen't beena priority for a while sotty. Will be back on soon woith more new stuff ,tabs , template for my guitar as requested a few times too , all coming soon. cheers everyone.

  • @Krashulka thats a good way to put it, awsome.

  • Scalloping has the purpose of improving the ease on doing bends and vibrato... playing these two things get pretty easy by scalloping. Now, the playing fast thing is just because it feels different in the beginning, but in one week you not only get used to it, but also get addicted, playing on a regular guitar will feel a little harder. But, when you scallop the first 12 frets (i scallop from 12 to 24) you have to be very careful when playing chords, you may press harder and get out of tune!

  • @ht448

Yngwie is a dumb shit. I played a Blackmore strat (scalloped) and it was effortless to play FAST

  • What does scalloping your fretboard do to the playing? Does it make the neck any less strong, or make it need more matenence... anything like that?

  • @chrishurt12345 try JustFuckingGoogleIt com

  • sounds a bit like floods, still awesome though
