the area you are in is from the mission All Ghillied Up in Cod4. Infinity ward didnt feel like going back and making a whole new map so they just added this spec ops mission on to the All Ghillied Up mission. Go back and play cod4 and you'll see what i mean.

Wow they could have taken all that out and made the level faster loading and running, but instead they choose to render all that empty space for nothing, no wonder CoD games graphics haven't improved since CoD 4.
