March Madness is hopefully just getting started for Atascadero High graduate Hannah Donaghe. The former Greyhound star is a junior guard for the Stanford women's basketball team.
The Cardinal is the top seed in the Sacramento Regional and crushed UC Riverside in last Saturday's first round. Stanford hosts eighth seeded Iowa on Monday night for a spot in the Sweet 16.
Hannah has played in just 15 minutes this season for Stanford after recovering from a torn ACL. Whether she plays in a game or not in the NCAA Tournament, Hannah said she had accepted her role on the team. And she is thrilled to be part of another March Madness run.
"For me, it really hasn't lost any of the excitement being in the tournament especially this year having the one seed," said Donaghe during a phone interview. "Our team has just worked so incredibly hard at this point and being at home, the environment has been great."
