He was one of New York's hottest young guitarists, his new CD was due for release and his wife, Monica, was pregnant with their first child. Then, at a gig in Manhattan, Jason suffered a near-fatal brain hemorrhage. His doctors doubted he would ever emerge from his near-vegetative state.

"Life. Support. Music." by Jason's friend and filmmaker Eric Daniel Metzgar, airs on PBS Tuesday, July 7, 2009 (check local listings), is a document of the astonishing journey that followed. The film is a stirring family saga and a portrait of creative struggle in the face of overwhelming tragedy.

PBS airdate: July 7, 2009. Check local listings and more http://www.pbs.org/pov/pov2009/lifesupportmusic

  • @skimboarder000 Sadly, it's not "cool" or "hip" to reference God, let alone pledge devotion to God in the 21st century.......

  • Thank you Bradster75, been looking for him there!!!

  • the credit should be to the family first. they were the ones who supported him and stimulated his senses inorder for him to recover.

  • Interact with Jason on his new Facebook Fans Page. Just type "Jason Crigler" into your Facebook search box and click on the black and white icon of Jason playing the guitar.

  • It is heartfelt but I feel that no credit was given to God, the one who was truly responsible for this miracle. That is the true meaning.

  • A must-see! With all humility I ask : how can anyone say anything negative about this???? Monica and Jason truly know the meaning of love and devotion. The entire family and his friends are a beautiful testimony to what life is really about. I thank all of them with my whole heart!

  • I am so thrilled that I watched this film the other night. It is well worth watching... many many lessons to learn and very inspirational.

  • I think the sound track is a turn off, special at 1:29
