Demo of the 3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator envelope filter pedal. Played with an Elrick six-string bass. This is 3Leaf's take on Lovetone Meatball filter. The pedal actually sounds a bit thinner on this video than it does in reality- my camera wasn't catching the oomph from my amp.

  • What made you decide to swap this into your pedal lineup for the QTron+?

  • I actually would like to have kept both, but I only really have room for one envelope filter, and the 3Leaf has more consistently usable tones without the big volume spikes, as it's not a highly resonant filter like the Qtron. The Qtron can make some killer tones that only a really resonant filter can though. Both are great filters that do things a little differently from each other.

  • Hi, mate...

I have waited over a week and finally got this one this afternoon. It is a great filter indeed!!!

    I love it so much...

And Let me ask you a question

do you run your fuzz & Octaver before or after the Filter? your4 pedal sequence please

  • For synthy sounds, I keep my synthy fuzz (MXR Blowtorch) before the filter, and usually an octaver, although I'm currently without one. I also have a Bass Big Muff fuzz after it.

  • playing , and pedal sounds great man. I wish I could hear more of your low end though , video cams and comps always rape the low end of the actual sound. But , I am like torn between emma ,and this..... I don't know any ,and I got a crybaby ...? What's your FINAL thought ?

    peace-

  • I've had the 3Leaf for around seven months now, and haven't had GAS for any other filter. At all. A wah pedal is a different beast than an envelope filter- I don't consider owning both to be repetitive. The Emma is supposed to be a much more subtle pedal with bass, but I haven't played it so I can only go on what others have said.

  • I heart my groove regulator!

  • Yeah I know. But im not sure if it truly worth the $199. Because I am also looking to upgrade my amp and Im not sure. Also thats a good way of comparing it.

  • Not really when you compare it to other envelope filters with similar features. It's only about $20 more than the Q-tron, it's the same price as the Emma Discumbobulator, and it's cheaper than many others. I try to think of it as going a month without fast food or going to the movies :D

  • thats a heafty price tag...
