Abbey Lincoln (born Anna Marie Wooldridge in Chicago, Illinois,(August 6, 1930 -- August 14, 2010) was a jazz vocalist, songwriter, and actress. Lincoln is unusual in that she writes and performs her own compositions, expanding the expectations of jazz audiences.

  • She explores these same themes in "Throw It Away." They're problems a lot of women (including myself) can relate to.

  • This music never dies because it is fully alive.

    Abbey Lincoln had certainly a great lifetime. Hard to believe that anything can stop this including the reset that is usually referred to as death.
