The peace loving French (rainbow warrior incident)

In 1985 the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior was bombed and sunk by the French DGSE in Auckland, New Zealand, as it prepared for another protest of nuclear testing in French military zones. One crew member, Fernando Pereira of Portugal, photographer, drowned on the sinking ship while attempting to recover his photographic equipment. Two members of DGSE were captured and sentenced, but eventually repatriated to France in a controversial affair.

There were 210 French nuclear tests from 1960 until 1996. 17 of them were done in the Algerian Sahara between 1960 and 1966, starting in the middle of the Algerian War (1954-1962). 193 were carried out in French Polynesia.

New Zealand was an inocent bystander, France really hit them hard considering New Zearland to be one of the few countries without dark secrets, who have always helped out in important international events. But by no means is france to blame for what some idiot in a possistion of power within there government did. I could see many other solutions for the french, if they had to they could even have just blown the prop off preventing it from being able to make it to the site of the tests.

But they obviously couldn't careless about that, since they are more interested in maintaining their comfortable lifestyles and couldn't careless about what is happening thousand of miles away in the Pacific.

The French Nuclear Testing killed an Island and more or less the people who lived on that island...come on people get real!!!!
