Over 1600 lanterns are dedicated by anyone who comes by early enough that day, by writing a personal message to a loved one who passed away or for prayers or wishes of peace or whatever you really want. Some people were very emotional with their lanterns. They had an a Taiko drum performance that was made up from people all over the world. Also a Japanese choir and several other groups performed. Thousands of people were there along with the governor of Hawaii, Mayor of Honolulu and congressmen so it was a huge event for Hawaiians. Anyways I went out into the water to catch these videos.
