Mine doesn't have a crack in the screen, but it has a grey spot which looks like it's rubbed off from the inside. What would that be from and how can I fix it?

while replacing my screen i pulled it off and the black plastic cracked inside but wont unclip from the metal clips. how can i remove the plastic without damaging the lcd?
