A demonstration of the speed differences between an HR23-700 & an HR24-500 .. The video is a single shot with no editing. It is not side by side, I simply switch inputs on my TV to demonstrate.

@InspireImages Sorry to hear that, but 2 things come to mind (1) I'm a regular guy, I don't work for DIRECTV and (2) did you actually call DIRECTV? They can't service your system if you don't tell them something is wrong.

Wow, this must be the educated brother of my HR21-100, cause my box is as slow as can be.

If you receivers are running bit slow, think about delete some recordings, and take it off native mode. You won't get a replacement for receiver slowness. There is something else you can do but I forgot (:

I've also heard it will be in HD, or at least faux HD (960x540). I'm sure it's in testing, and it will likely be out by the end of this year.
