Vivian Campbell is a guitarist from Def Leppard. He got famous in band Dio, where he played in two classic albums. He joined Def Leppard after their guitarist Steve Clark died. Vivian has made many famous riffs and has really great playing style. He is known for his fast, wild guitar solos. His best solos are often found during his Dio-years!

1. Really amazing solo from "Last in Line", my favourite Vivian solo. It shows Vivian's true skills as a guitar player
2. Guitar solo from "I Speed at Night", really wild and fast, great playing
3. Nice solo from "Rainbow in the Dark"
4. Famous solo from the metal classic "Holy Diver"
5. Really amazing Def Leppard solo from "Rocket", really skilled guitar playing between Phil Collen and Vivian. Live from Sheffield Arena. One of my favourite live solos.
6. Solo from "We Rock"
6. Pretty standard solo from "Evil Eyes" accompanied with Dio's amazing low tenor voice
7. Nice, little solo from "Mystery"
8. Great and emotional solo from "Egypt (The Chains are On)". Vivian uses really much pinch harmonics on this song.

  • great guitarist...hail vivian

  • I've always thought that Viv had the best tone of the players in the 80's. Especially his rythm sound. He and Yngwie were my 2 fav players back then. I got to see them both together in Seattle on the Sacred Heart Tour in 85.

  • @gagebrwn...seriously, High and Dry...wow u don't know talent and what rocking really is...geeeeeez

  • Except the solo of ''The Last in Line'' they're not good enough!

  • @MrNumberonebass im afraid that the only songs youve ever heard from def leppard are pour some sugar on me and other song of their teeny pop era... explore a bit before assuming they are pop

  • @MrNumberonebass The album "High and Dry" rocks harder than anything Dio ever put out. Pyromania just proved how great they really were. And I kind of just ingore anything after Hysteria. Although, I still like it. Good music is good music whether its heavy or not. But, Def Leppard aren't the same band during High and Dry. During high and dry they were BETTER than Dio. Yes, way better!

  • @MrNumberonebass What did Def Leppard ever do to you? Did they beat you as children?

  • @GoodGuitarSolos They were a lot of things, crappy, a terrible group, and some of the worst song writers, but a rock group is not one of them.

  • @MrNumberonebass Jimi Hendrix played guitar and Def Leppard were rock, nice to see us agreeing.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos They are nothing alike, Jimi Hendrix played guitar and Def Leppard played pop. And they still sucked at it.

  • @MrNumberonebass Shame that they were a rock band, stating otherwise would be like saying that Jimi Hendrix didn't play guitar: it is just silly and awkward.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos They were horrible. And you cant make rock history if you dont play rock
