I agree with your description 100%. I never thought Shootenanny could be topped, and then I heard blinking lights. And then I heard it again, and again, and then I realized I had listened to the same CD for 6 hours and it never got boring.
E and his band no matter who the transient members are stay brilliant and refreshing every time. And I love this track.

Oh, my God. Such a beautiful song.
"Blinking lights" is the best album of this century. Simply amazing.

Always a feel good song for me, and what a lovely version of it too

does it get any better than this? I think not!

I don't know which I like more, the Studio version or the Live version. Because both are so well done in terms of performance :)

brilliant song
"and i know i can walk along the tracks
it may take a little longer, but i know that i find my way back"

Agree with you there Doyle5446 'bout the lap-steel! I'd rather not exist without Eels (E's) music....

You've got to love them or him for the brilliant music Eels bring out. The best being they aren't as prolific as other bands but have so much for style and longevity.
Thanks for the vid

Never seen this. Thanks for posting.
Gotta love those Eels.
Buy any Eels CD - they're all good.
Superb track can someone point out the guitar-like instrument
being played? I'd love to get one (I also love Eels this is my fave album ever :D)

The guitar-like instrument being played is a pedal steel guitar. VERY hard to learn as you are using both hands, both feet and even both knees. With patience and super ears you can do it though.

It's an original song written and sung by the Eels. NOT a cover.
