@LiuetenantDan93 Chevy v8 in a Porsche??? That's the opposite of upgrading; from high performance aluminium DOHC to low-budget cast iron OHV.
Advice: if you can't afford a real Porsche (incuding proper maintanance), get a Corvette (nice) or a Camaro (okay too) but don't ruin a nice piece of motoring heritage!

@sharklover928 I always heard they just mixed the sound in a studio. There are vids of people putting caddi northstars in deloreans, but some serious reconstruction is needed.

Buying one on Tuesday as a project car for 1500 bucks. It has a bad transmission and a bad cylinder. I'm planning on putting a V8 corvette engine into it. Then after that I'll tune it up. Great car!

@LiuetenantDan93 Sounds like a fun project... I'd like to see how that turns out!

Really sweet car :)! I have a '79 in the garage but I have no idea if it runs or not. Got it in a trade for my old '73 Mercedes 460SE which ran quite well. I don't even have a key to this 928. If it does run, I'll go ahead and keep it. If not, it'll be sold/donated.

@BoomBoomStockings1 Good luck. The CIS cars are hard to kill, just be sure to clear the lines out before you try to start it. Also, before attempting to adjust anything make sure there are no vac leaks. That's the #1 cause of poor running.

hm yep, that is definitely the engine used in the BTTF DeLoreans, minus the whine. Man that is one beast of an engine! (if you dont believe me, look it up on wikia).

@5dmc1 - Porsche made engines with anywhere from 4 to 12 cylinders. I seriously doubt that a V8 was put in the DMCs from BTTF. More likely they used a 944 engine, which is basically a 928 V8 with 4 cylinders cut off. This would have been a fairly easy retrofit. I looked on Wikia and elsewhere, and all they say is "Porsche Engine". That could be anything. If you find a pic of the engine bay on one of these cars I'd love to see it.
