i think there was a thing in japan that if youre boss invites the workmen to have "few" after work they HAVE to go eventhough they wouldnt want or if they wouldnt have time... and everybody has to drink as much as the boss, it was on of those japanese "unwritten" rules... someone told me that

Yes in a sense. If Japanese people see something odd, embarrassing or offensive, they pretend it isn't happening. I am not sure why. Women have been sexually abused on crowded trains in this way, as no-one, her included wants to draw attention to it...I am not sure of the cultural reasons...

If you tried to help a guy like that in Japan, it would be the biggest social faux pas EVER. Culturally it's a massive no-no.
