@plimbuff Well, it's understandable. We just need to work towards a world where someone would never think twice about telling someone else that they are gay. Saying "I'm gay" will be like saying "I'm from Branson, Missouri." People will just shrug and say "Okay" and it won't be a big deal. It'll happen one day, I'm sure of it.

@Ryan9145X, wow thanks!
Now I feel bad for lying...

@plimbuff Well, I'm not gay, but I hope you are able to be open about who you are one day. Try not to think of it as "admitting" you are gay. Just because some backwards idiots hate and fear what they don't understand doesn't mean you have to feel any shame. I just hope you know that there are plenty of straight people out there who are on your side. In the future, we will look back on this time the way we look back on how black people were treated in the past. Society will feel shame, not you.

I'm Gay.
This is the first, and last time I'm admitting it in public.
Thank you.

@jasonmoyer i don't know. i have never figured out what threatens people so much about treating everyone else the same. if you work, pay taxes, defend your country, then you should be treated like anyone else. i've never figured out why that is so hard to understand.

Oh, reading comments makes me sad. Why do I do it?

@mstaff657 Why is it that every time equal rights comes up, there's someone who thinks that equal rights means giving someone preferential treatment? The purpose of abolishing 'don't ask, don't tell' is to treat everyone equally; not to give homosexuals a platform to flaunt their "sexual deviance".

I thought General Smith was going to turn out to be gay, that would have been pretty funny.

No person on in the world has ever come down on Glen beck or any other conservative for being passionate about America.
Pundits like Glen Beck are DESPERATE to make you THINK that ALL of the criticism of them is anti-american, and thus it's criticism of the nation itself, and thus its criticism of everyone who lives here.
The people who 'Come Down' on Glen Beck do it because he is a fear mongering liar who's only goal is to deceive American's and sell books.
@Goohuman Well, than the cycle is going to repeat -- it's time America moved forward with it's recognition of civil liberties. While Al Franken makes his political point on a hot-bed issue to stay relevant, I for one and among the many that believe allowing gays to serve, alongside the removal of a ban on assault weapons and Marijuana is exactly the direction this country should be heading in.
And I respect your right to disagree.

A man accused of hating his country, and he teared up over a song paying tribute to our men and women serving this country.
