This is probably the first match i remember watching, I remember going to bed, after David Batty's penaly miss - I guess this is where i first experienced, the pain of supporting England :)

This is a Classic match, it features the quite Stunning Solo Goal by Michael Owen, The Moment of Madness from future national treasure, David Beckham - of course, the disallowed Goal from Sol Campbell, and a Penalty Shootout for good measure...

Is an England World cup campaign really complete, without a Penalty Shootout???

Of course, Losing in the second round was not recieved well by the English Public, and David Beckham was the main aim of peoples anger.and frustrations

But Beckham was soon to be a national hero, His free kick against Greece 3 years later, made him an England legend :)

  • @SamKellyVEVO I remember watching this game and it was a red card. He didn't trip, Beckham kicked out.

I also remember Sol Campbell having a goal disallowed which I think should of stood!
