Yannassery or Janassery were the real back bone of the Ottoman empire they were brought over from Ottoman subjects in europe and raised up in milatary schools sultan Orhan Ghazi was the first to intruoduce them into his army circa 1330 and for the next 500 yrs they unmatched in europe and thier power grew and even at times the sultans became fearfull of them sultan Osman 2 was Assasinated by them in 1622 and also in 1808 Selim 3 paid the price for going against their words
