DOTHAN: At 5:45 PM Dothan Fire was dispatched to a structure fire at 618 West Powell Street. Reports are flames were visible.
On the arrival of the first fire engine and police, flames were seen from the roof. It took fireman a few minutes to gain access to the fire in the roof because the house had a metal roof. By 5:59 PM Dothan Fire advised fire out and under control. Sources say that the residents were inside and unaware of the attic fire when it first started.
About 4 Dothan Fire Engines, a Laddeer Truck, Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams, Battalion Chief Keith Gassiter and CARE Ambulance were on the scene. Dothan Police, under command of Sgt. Adrian Woodruff, kept the scene blocked and under control.
