The spiritual,"Guide My Feet, While I Run This Race," was part of a breakfast concert for Harvard's black alumni assembled at Annenberg Hall on Sunday morning, October 1, 2006.
For some reason, this song came to my mind tonight. I decided to look for a video and was pleasantly suprised when I found this. I like Kuumba Singers' way of singing this spiritual though it's faster than I remember it from my childhood. I'm sorry the taping cut off before the song was over. But what was captured was great. Thanks for sharing this video!
Excellent! I can hear the african influence, which is rare in modern negro spiritual performances. I reccommend pushing the envelope and other old styles and tunes. People may get uncomfortable (a sign of authenticity) Happy to see it come this group. Press on!
