  • It may sound out there but helen clarke should be draged back to nz and trailed 4 treison!!

  • This was great. Kiwi fighter jocks, good to go, definitely! I'm former USAF and have always admired the Royal New Zealand Air Force - small, but you get the job done. It's a shame that your fighter jets were taken away. I know you almost got some F-16's from us and I wish that would have gone through. If nothing else, hell, we've got some perfectly good F-5E/F's mothballed that I'm quite sure the RNZAF could put to good use...

  • That squadren leader would be stoked he got to get out of those peace of shit F4's and into a decent fighter with the RAAF

  • @kiwipilot84 brought? Dont you mean bought?

  • @Hiwatt250 You'd have to be carefull with the F5 , too many fans of the movie Top Gun would mistake it for the non existant Mig28 it played in the movie ;)

  • like American jets. It is well placed to face down future Russian and Chinese designs and is far better than what the now bogged and bloated down US military industrial complex can produce.

  • roads while operating in dispersed units from forests and mountains. This would be fantastic in the Pacific and in NZ and would offer great flexibility. The Grippen also has fantastic future developmental momentum behind it thus promising a fighter with options in the coming decades. Current developments include increased payloads, increased range and the ability to supercruise. The Grippen is also insanely cheap and does not come with political strings attached and controlling relationships

  • wakes up and realizes that we don't live in a utopia akin to a children's fantasy land and decides to reinstate an air combat capability the best option will be the Swedish made SAAB JAS-39 Grippen. It is a 5th Gen fighter with advanced avionics that connects the aircraft into intellegence and mission sharing networks which increase the effectiveness of small forces like the RNZAF. The Grippen has a short turn around time, it easy and cheap to repair and maintain and can land on short country

  • Forget the F-35. It is a nightmare programme and could soon (and should) be scrapped by Congress. It is already blown out it's ass in costs and now the airframe and engine are having serious issues. The F-35 is fast going the way of the F-22 Raptor; dead in the water. Besides why would we want American jets? They come with too many political strings attached. As for the Eurofighter, it is insanely expensive and the Europeans won't sell the fully capable models to anyone but themselves. When NZ

  • so NZ has no fighters or has no air force at all ? either way crazy ! i thought us brits were dumb getting rid of our harriers in the middle of 2 wars ! the aussies dont have a big air force so whos protecting who .

  • @ceskazbrojovka17HMR Incorrect, most of them we brought new actually, the fleet was expanded with a few ex-aus versions.

  • @Reviloford you spelled F-35 wrong. :P
