This video depicts a flash mob that was held in St. Petersburg, Fl. on August 22, 2009. The protest was held in response to the demand by potential investors that the city turn over the public sidewalk adjacent to shopping center in exchange for their investment in the property. This particular public sidewalk has been a long-time forum for local activists and its privatization would eliminate a public venue for activists to exercise their 1st Amendment rights.

  • No breathing.

  • what's the song?

  • The flash mob was the best thing Baywalk has seen in months. They should invite you back - maybe then that dreadful mall could be saved

  • ahahaha you losers were the only ones in Baywalk. Nobody even noticed. That place blows, it will be shut down anyway.

  • If your a citizen of a country where you dictoator is gassing thousands of citizens, kidnapping and raping women, executing people who speak out, and taking the money for the people and spending it on lavish palaces, you'd want someone to speak out for you too...oh wait we did and you complained about it.

  • If you want to holler, do it in THE PUBLIC SQUARE (Williams Park or Straub Park), not on private property and not in a way which I might find menacing or annoying.

  • "Quietly protesting"? Did you really say that? If it were you're child being bombed would you quietly protest? Well, it's your tax dollars, your government and your military who are killing kids every day. You should be doing more than quietly protesting.

  • I really don't have a problem with folks quietly "protesting" on the sidewalk outside Baywalk, but please know that I do not want to be approached , spoken to, or physically reached out to, especially when I have my child with me. I don't know you. Leave me alone.

And by the way, I also oppose these two wars.

  • Great work, beautiful way to get your point across, I love the song. Keep it up.

  • Yeah they do, and being ignorant and trying to deny it doesn't mean it didn't. People are passionate about the things that they believe in, so you can honestly tell me that NONE of those passionate people would ever grab someone? I remember the event quite clearly. And I told him to let me go or I would have him arrested. And if he would have grabbed my daughter, i would have laid him out. The only fantasy here is that ALL protesters are innocent people trying to pass on a message. Some are bad.
