"Versagen des Willens

Nichtbeachtug des Willens. English: "Failure of the Will". A reference to Leni Riefenstahl's film that chronicled the Rise of National Socialism, Adolph Hilter, and Unquestioned Patriotism to the Will of the State in Germany in the 1930's. The German's subjugation of their each and own individual will, to the will of the nation and a leader, literally, became a failure of the will inside each and every one of them.

This is not a judgment upon them, those were nascent times; far from it. It is a warning to every single person alive, no matter what country you live in, or what period of time, that your country, your nation, and your state does and will lie to you, from the moment you are born to the day that you die. They will train you from birth to fear, to obey orders, to sit down and shut up, to stand in lien, to march, and to jump when you are told. They will do this so often in such a soft way, in ways to make you think its for your own good and the good of the community, that you will become so conditioned to it that you will do it automatically by rote without ever questioning, that it very may well lead to your own death and detriment and that of your friends and family.

This video was originally made as a video answer to a video I saw on Youtube, that combined a scene from Apt Pupil and Running up that Hill. I saved the video to my harddrive, but have lost the link to the original video, if it even still exists on Youtube. If I find it, I will link this video to it as a video answer. Parts of this video contain his video work, specifically the red text scenes and portfolio snapshots of Nazi Leaders.

This is a Fan film. Partical scenes from the movie: "Apt Pupil" and "die Brucke"; Partial music from: "Running up that Hill", "Working Class Hero", and "Bittersweet Symphony". All excellent, I recommend you buy/rent all of them to see the full versions. Copyrights owned by their respective authors, if they want me to pull this, I will, otherwise, I think this video does them all justice.

die Brucke scene notes: The children in the video are more than likely Hitler Youth, stationed as a last ditch effort to defend the city of Berlin in the last crumbling days of the war.

Apt Pupil scene notes: the boy finds outs an old man's past, buys a Nazi uniform, and blackmails him into putting it on against his will.

Remember, Hitler was a Working Class Hero, as were most of those who followed him. People like you and me.

We are all born with both good and evil inside of us, and both serve a purpose inside man to guarantee our survival. Judge not, lest you be judged. You can not deny the dirty deeds of one hand that is yours, while praising the works of the other your other hand in the next breath.
