Daniel Webster, deputy director for research at the Johns Hopkins Center for the Prevention of Youth Violence, talks about a recent study of Baltimore's Safe Streets program.
I just read UNNATURAL CAUSES, the bicentennial volume of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, which indicated gun violence in this demographic is often not crime-related. It's often young men who bring a gun to a party, and get in a fight. Alcohol is often involved, but it's usually people who know each other, not random muggings or robberies. An instructive book, if already 20 years old.
