The only thing worse than being raped would've been being forced to gestate my rape-related pregnancy. That is a horror I would not have endured. I thank God on a daily basis that abortion was a safe & legal option for me... otherwise I would have been forced to undergo an illegal and dangerous procedure and my children may have been left motherless.

I think people exaggerate the badness of rape. I'm not saying its not bad, its just not on the same level of murder.

It is true abortion is murder. Rape is bad of course but not as bad. For example the Catholic Church is under attack but some of these cases are not even rape but mere molestation. Abortion should be the focus of everyone it is a crime more than molestation.

Presicely! Emergency contraceptive care would prevent so many pregnancies. Universal access to family planning as well as comprehensive sexuality education would combat on-request abortions, but neither would come true here.

You are also prime example of the myth that "only women who have never had babies would have abortions." When in actuality over 60% of women who have abortions already have children! My mom is very pro-choice and I got my strong support for reproductive rights from her!

@TheFashionistaofNYC - I only hope that all hospitals (regardless of their ties to any particular religion/cult ) will be able to offer this option to women (particularly those who do not belong to their religion/cult) so that they can avoid pregnancy and any subsequent abortion.

I am very thankful to have such a supporting and loving family who have been willing to put aside their personal beliefs in order to support my personal life decisions... I love them so much!

EC is key. Yet anti-choicers claim EC is an abortificient and private hospitals and pharmacies are allowed to deny emeregency contraceptive care to rape victims.

I'm sorry for what you went through. At least you have such a beautiful family to support you!

@TheFashionistaofNYC - I only wish EC would've been available & advertised back then... unfortunately, I was never advised of it and had to endure a surgical abortion. We should all Trust Women!
