@Quillons1 SCA combat is Practical and effective, bring out any martial arts weapon styles against us and they will most likely lose because what they practice is closer to dancing, and it looks beautiful but that doesn't make it work, I'm sure the period masters knew what they were doing, that's why SCA fencers take a blend of the best from all of them.

Sam, you're trying to apply modern terms with period technique. Modern technique doesn't usually work with period weapons. Unfortunately, the SCA precludes so much period technique that most of teh teachings found within the SCA are bastardized to fit within the rules of that organization and NOT period fencing. Although this guy seems to at least have a good grasp on basic technique. Even though he doesn't know as much about Italian fencing as he thinks he does.
