Leafs acquire Phil Kessel

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired Phil Kessel from the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 1st and 2nd Rd pick in 2010, and another 1st round pick in 2011.

Hey Bruins fan here. First off, wanted to say that remind me of sxephil here on youtube. Second, Kessel was one of my favorite Bruins and we're going to miss him in the scoring department. At the same time, the Bruins have enough depth that I think if we were to remain uninjured we won't have a difficult time compensating for those goals. I feel like Phil's a really great fit for the Leafs and I'm happy for him. Sucks he's still in our division though. He's going to be a real threat to Thomas.

As an outside looking in, if I were a Bruins fan, I'd be counting of Wheeler having an enormous year.

I am a Bruins fan. And i think....that we miss kessel. He was our main man, the face of the bruins. Look at us this year we arent half the team we were last year without him.

@jayvardy Put words in my mouth? Where did I say we won the trade? That's first. Second, I'll go ahead and say we won this trade because...well, he's the god damn leading goal scorer in the league. He is top 5 for points. He is 24. he hasnt even reached his full potential. Yes, Seguin is good, and he'll probably get better, but we needed a scorer, and we got arguably one of the best in the league. And dont give me this miss the playoffs bullshit, that has nothing to do with Kessel.

Id hardly say I was proven wrong. Seguin is having an amazing year in his sophomore season. Seguin could easily turn out to be the better player. Not to mention Doug Hamilton and Jared knight. Also since the Trade the Bruins have won the stanley cup and are currently 1st place in the east. The leafs are yet to make the playoffs and are clearly a worse team than Boston. Plz enlighten me on how we won this trade ?
