"I was at Causeway Point when I was approached by a girl who claimed to be a volunteer for The Renewal Centre. She asked if I could help donate money by buying a ticket for $10.

"When I asked if 30% of the proceeds goes to the collector, her reply was 'No, it is used for transport allowance, merchandising and auditing.'

"But the NCSS website states that 'Part of the proceeds (30%) will be used as payment to collectors.' So which is the truth? Shouldn't donors be made aware of the actual amount given to sales personnel ?

"Also, why do we donors need to pay sales personnel to donate money to charity? 30% is $3 out of the $10 donated, a huge amount. For the record, sales personnel are paid to sell, while volunteers are unpaid, as they give their time to do charity.
