  • We are flying tomorrow morning to a hospital with such capabilities to do the same operation to our 5 days old daughter... She also has large ASD and VSD, which are amazingly keeping her condition better… I did not even dare to tell her mom about this video, but your comments are definitely uplifting. Thank you...

  • I have dextro-Transposition of the great arteries. I had surgery back in 1966 when i was 6 weeks old. I am now 44. I have had to have 3 surgeries, one at 6 weeks, 5 yrs, and 12 yrs. Today I still see a Dr. on a regular basis. But in all I am doing well.

  • My grandson had this surgery done when he was only five days old. He is now thirteen years old. He is doing awesome, he loves sports and although he has been told he can't play football that has not slowed him down. He has been on an all-star basketball team and baseball teams since he was old enough to do so. He"s now entering junior high school and the starting point guard for the team. Big joke in the family is that we believe they gave him too much O2 but we know he is our miracle.

  • yeah i had this surgery done at 11 months old. Im now 26 years old

  • God Bless all these surgeons!!

  • I had this done 2 times in the span of 6 days when I was born in 1993

  • This video is amazing, my son is going to have this surgery on January 2010 soon after birth, I'm anxious, the doctors say he has this condition but seeing your comments gives me hope that everything will be fine thanks.

  • Please talk to your doctors, before trying & or playing any sports. They are the ones you should listen to. I do not want anyone getting hurt, of me.

  • I had this Operation in 1989. It is kind of weir to see it on television, or YouTube. I am so thankful that I had this operation otherwise I would not be alive. I always want to tell any parents out their that have Open Heart Patients child that they can do anything. I played football for four years in high school & wrestled for six years. I was never any good at either, however I never had any problems from my heart. Please talk to your doctor first before playing sports if yo had this surgery.

  • I had this switch done in 1994 when I was 3 days old. Its interesting to now see how its done.
