Mic test of the Drift Stealth 170 using a Pearstone Fuzzy Windjammer. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/637551-REG/Pearstone_9071830_9071830_Fu...

Seems to help a LOT.

Also, sorry about the angle of the lens. I forgot to reset it after playing around with the camera off the helmet. Live and learn.

  • I have same problem. My helmet flows so much damn air, it's impossible to cut out all the wind noise. I ended up making two little dots on the lens adjuster so I can line up the shot easier when I take it off. I went and seen the new PA too. I was so disappointed. Hell they cut out ever thing in the previews. How do you have yours mounted, sticky, or Velcro?

  • @EEEKROAR i am using Velcro with the Goggle mount right now. I need to order some of the sticky mounts and see if it will help with the angle. I used some electrical tape on the mic the other day and now it is way to quite. Gonna have to play around with the sensitivity settings now and see how things come out. Hopefully tomorrow or Sat should be nice after this cold front passes today.

  • I agree - at a meet-up, things become more personal, and personable. Absolutely, one of the yearly highlights for me. YouTube viewing only scratches the outer shell of the real person behind the camera. Putting a real name to an individual also helps me remember the person as well.

I think you got your camera mounting angle set - looks good! :)

  • LOL, I guess I COULD slow down if I HAD too....Love it!!!

  • Pesonnally I think it sounds Pretty good!

  • The movie "Dead Alive" was from Peter Jackson's splatter period. That is how he got his start, much like Sam Rami of the Evil Dead series. It's very much a cult movie and every bit as good as what Sam Rami presented. My wife hated it, so that means it's a good movie. It has it's humor as well, but a very gory movie.

  • There ya go. Mic sounds good now :) To be honest, I dont think anyone will ever completely get rid of the wind noise.

Hoping that we keep our nicer weather for a little bit longer. Not ready for the cold winter rains here just yet.

  • Your voice is clear and easy to understand despite the wind. Have you tried a larger piece of "closed cell" foam wrapped over the mic? B&H has a pretty huge selection of all that stuff, for sure. If I recall, you wear a Scorpon helmet, right? Are you using the little "chin curtain" thingy?

  • Other than the mic issues, how do you like the drift?

  • Good afternoon freaky person. 8-) Yeah I need to improve my mic...the over drive or whatever pisses me off. I have been using a cover over the mic, but it doesn't help as much as I want it to. Back to the drawing board. :-) Drift needs to do a firmware update to improve the gain or whatever. Chop chop, Drift!
