Spartans in Mk IV Mjolnir armor consider that facing 500 sangheili of the veteran elite legions to be a good ratio. A single elite minor is better than an ODST, and now you have 500 of those, but with rank of Major(human lieutenant) and higher. And they have tanks, Hunters and air support. And now Spartans also have Mk VI armor, so they'd do even better.

Freeman doesn't even have a shot at this.

@ragdoll485 A pair of hunters can kill take on entire companies. The plasma burns at hundreds of thousands of degrees, it can take down tanks in a single shot. Their armor is almost indestructible.

Ok seriously all jokes and crowbar memes set aside if these two actually engaged in combat with each other the chief would win, don't be mad about it. Superior weapons armor genetically altered genes that put him at a superhuman level, come on stop joking yourselves. You really think mr freeman with his hazmat LAB TESTING armor and a crowbar can take on that? They both are able to halt invading alien races the chief can just halt them faster.

I just love it when people are all: "Butt teh Freeminn saved the woarld using ONLY A CROBARR!" Really? I love the Half-Life games but I don't recall shooting down all those dropships and striders with my crate-opening starter weapon. Also, watch this cutscene and tell me MC doesn't have more character than the mute scientist. (Half-Life's atmosphere was way better though in my opinion)

@Seanmcfarlane115 Giving Freeman a Spartan suit would actually probably be more dangerous for him than Master Chief himself. In the books an ordinary Marine tried to simply extend his arm with it, but it moved so violently and quickly that his arm basically turned into a bag of meaty soup and bone fragments. That's why the Spartans have to have so many physical augmentations...

However, I prefer Half-Life to Halo, because I think the games and story are better, and more interesting. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but you really can't think that just making something powerful automatically makes it better than something else.

Look: Here's the thing. Who would win in a fight ≠ Who represents the better game. I'm going to invent a franchise: God-Man. God-Man can kill everyone instantaneously, being omnipotent. Now, is my invention better than Half-Life and Halo? No. It's just stupid. Just giving your characters huge power is not the equivalence of making them GOOD CHARACTERS. I don't care how many enhancements MC has damn it. Gordon will always be the better character. MC is just a Souped up supersoilder. Gordon on the other hand is just a regular scientist who can do extraordinary things without any enhancements or training. That's more amusing to me than what MC can do. Now if there's one guy who'll give MC a run for his money is the guy from the Crysis games
