Suzy Fraser on banning the incandescent. Suzanne Fraser, Communications Director for Project Porchlight, appears on CBC's the National to discuss CFL bulbs and the Canada-wide incandescent ban. Project Porchlight is an initiative of the community-based social marketing organization One Change.

  • The "twisted" and "bulb" shapes have no importance in the science whatsoever. If you want to have a bulb over your twisted shapes, go ahead.

  • I converted my house to CFLs throughout - they are a completely useless. They take ages to come on, the light they produce is so gloomy that it is hard to read and despite the claims for long life – all the bulbs had to be replaced within a year – some of them had to be replaced within a few weeks and my electricity bill wasn’t reduced by one penny. CFL = completely failed lighting.
