Where the old Micra split opinion with its oddball styling, this new car was designed to appeal to a global audience. It has lost some of its charm in the process - and inside feels a little cheap. It still gets a lot of the basics right, with a cabin roomy enough for five adults, and a reasonably sized boot. Unfortunately, it's not particularly fun to drive and the cheapest models do without some necessary equipment.

I have had mine for a few days now and so far I am happy with it. I bought the Shiro version, so it has a good spec but I am undecided about the black & white dashboard and side panels. The 1.2 engine is quite lively, and if you keep it in the optimum power band it whizzes along nicely. Handling isn't the cars strongest point, but then I use it in the city so isn't so much of an issue. I was originally concerned by the fact it is built in India, but the build quality appears to be okay so far.

@Gurksallad10 nissan micra financiers and banks are real creeps. they invite u to buy the car and delivery is good later the threat and screws start setting in. i bought nissan micra from hyderabad banjara hillls . the nissan financier and sbi bank are real creeps . because of their misguidance i have to make circles of my own bank and back again to these two . be wary of the nissan financiers and other bank financiers whom they take us too.

How can the build quality feel "built to last" in the first part of the review, and then feel "cheap and nasty" towards the end?

I prefer the mk1 Micra for its square styling. This version and its predesessor, I find very ugly and wouldn't even consider one.
