@cheamverdi The thing about Rieu is that he dropps everything you just said about true art and stuff to the level of "commoners". Art is for everybody, not just "Classical players" and "pro musicians". Music isn't for them it's for the people who listen to them. I wish things were like old times, when professional musicians had to scrape a living... they were humble, if not modest, they were at the "commoner's" level, they knew what they felt, and hence wrote music accordingly.

You should be thankful that he is THAT succesful - more and more people are interessted in classical music. Including me.

I just watched Rieu version which was lovely and thought I would check out other versions. This one is so lifeless its putting me to sleep. It DOES matter how you do render it.
