agreed, the russian leadership is secretly communist and plans a return of the old rule and finishing off the west.

The Russians are planning to come back to the USSR, and some of our military leadership sees the combined USSR/Chicom as the greatest threat. However, the civilian leadership and the top brass sees little terrorists in Afghanistan as the greatest threat. The Cold War is not politically popular here in the States.
