@canarycreek cheers skip , i wasnt notified of your comment so have only just found it . i used this tool when i worked at a local stately home . theres a type of tree called hawthorne used for hedging around fields . the trunks are sliced almost through , just leaving a sliver of living wood , then they are pushed over and layered with others to form a living barrier . the billhooks and brushing hooks are for that
