Please rename. Kyokushin did not exist at the time this supposedly happened. The sad thing is now I here WC people claiming 'Ip Man defeated 10 Kyo blackbelts' based on the lies of this shamelessly self promoting propaganda peice. Kyokushin did not exist until well after the war. Just as Ip Man never fought the world heavyweight boxing champion as the sequel suggests, he also never faced anyone from Kyokushin. These lies do more harm to WC then good. OSU

@Dobbersky Sir
Let us not forget Seido Karate (Mr. Nakamura) and Ashihara Karate (Mr. Ashihara) trained under Mr. Oyama the founder of Kyokushin. Seido Karate and K-1 founder Mr. Ishii trained under Mr. Ashihara when he was the Shihan of the Kyokushin Shikoku dojo, as did Mr. Ninomiya (Enshin). Mr. Oyama before he formed Kyokushin Karate as a young man trained under Mr. Funakoshi who was the founder of Shototkan. Mr. Oyama also trained under Mr. Yamaguchi Sensei(GoJuRyu) as a young man too.Osu

@aldridge1 - Even Bruce Lee, never faced a Kyokushin fighter either so not too sure why they try a place it against the Hardest Karate, when it never happened!!!
-
@godwinel33 - Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmm
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! YES, Ashihara and Enshin Karate are Japanese, they have their own kata and techniques which are separate in execution to the way Okinawan based Karate is performed!!! Oh and Semmy Schilt, an Ashihara Karate Fighter is the Current K-1 Champ -
@aldridge1 WC still has it purpose, I don't practice it, I am a full contact guy (really, my dojo allow bare fist punches to the head), but i still think WC has it purpose. they have fancy hand work, but really, its not undefeatable. Forget about skills, if the same person put as much effort in WC and Karate, he can use his karate swiftly after 1.5 years of training, while his WC will probably need another 2 more years to be useful...

@Edvardas06 Let these guys dream, its just a movie, one that is overly exahggerated to put down other arts... doesn't matter if its traditional or not, there is noway that anyone can fight 10 yudansha without getting a scratch.....
-
@Dobbersky How did you come to this conclusion? And really, is there any "Karate" style that doesn't have some Okinawan origin? Kyokushin was founded base on different Okinawan style....
-
@aldridge1 There are enough people who believe this crap though. We have a WC school here who promoted themselves as an "Art that can win any fight easily"... WC did improved their "real world" combat technique in recent years, but I remeber about 10 years ago, a shameless WC teacher did an open tournament inviting people of all styles, his students were practically R@ped by TKD and Karate people.... and you are right, Kyokushin didn't exist till well after WWII

@pinoyblue69 Sir
This video is from the 2008 Hong Kong film IP MAN, directed by Mr. Yip and the star was Donnie Yen. The movie takes place in the 1930s but Mr. Oyama (founder of Kyokushin) was born 7/27/1923. Mr. Oyama would have just been in his teens at that time. The 1st Kyokushin dojo was opened in 1956-1957 in Tokyo, Japan. At scene 0:57-0:58 on the dogi of the fallen fighter you can read the kanji on his dogi uwagi and it does not have Kyokushin Kai on it. Wrong title for this vidoe. Osu

Aah, Hong Kong Kung Fu fantasy movies. Only in their dreams but yet, Wing Chun cannot provide a single full contact competition winner, such as K-1 and MMA. Why? Because it's full of garbage. For anyone not believing me, go check out Asbel Cancio(WC sifu) vs David Beneteau in UFC 5, and Joe Sayah(WC Sifu) vs Nobuaki Kakuda(Seidokaikan(Kyokushin offspring)) and see what happens. =)
