A small plane crashed Monday in Canton, killing the pilot.
Police said Agnes E. Imregh, 57, of Dover, was the only person aboard the 1979 era Mooney M20J Single Wing Aircraft that crashed at about 10:15 a.m. near the former site of the Canton airport, between Neponset Street and Rote 95. An independent helicopter pilot, Mike Peavey of Aerial Productions, was in the area and helped in the rescue operation by hovering over the crash site until police and firefighters could get through the swampy area. The plane took off from Pittstown, N.J., on the the way to Norwood airport.
State and local police, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Aeronautic Commission, the National Traffic Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
It will most likely continue over the next 24-48 hours. Imregh was married and had an adult son. Police spokesman Paul Bishop said the plane went down in thick woods between Route 128 and Neponset Street. Norwood Airport officials lost contact with the plane at about 10:15 a.m. Drivers on the highway reported seeing the plane flying unusually low.
The wreckage was found near Old Airport Runway Road in Canton.
The Route 95 exit on Route 128 was temporarily closed.

  • Trully a sad day in aviation when we lose a pilot skilled enough to be piloting (and crashing) 2 planes at the same time..... jesus

  • Your report clearly shows two different airplanes. Whats up with that?

  • Why are you showing multiple crashes thats shotty reporting it was the mooney in a wooded area!

  • So sad...

  • I don't understand what the poster's agenda is. He shows a variety of different crashes and different aircraft apparently in an attempt to give the viewer the impression that the crash occured in a populated area but the only plane that seems to meet the description (the Mooney) appears in an isolated area. Why would someone do this? As a pilot I don't find it very funny.

  • Actually the single engine aircraft is a Mooney. The twin is a Cessna, but not a 340. It's either a 414 or a 421.The 340's verticle stabilizer has much less area than the plane pictured.

  • Hey, conspiracists have Pres Bush not only ordering the planes to crash into the WTC on 911, they have him piloting the planes. Yeah he ejected right before impact, and was hustled to the airport to fly the second plane. Dan Rather has a source.

  • yeah i no only one plane crashedunless it split and i liive like on neponset street and i wastold it was in the woods but idk man who ever recorded it got both scenes

  • Very dishonest to show the 340 near the building. It make it look like this accident happened near people.

  • I mean a Mooney single.
